BECOME A VOLUNTEER

Rebuilding Together Fox Valley is really about hard-working, compassionate people helping neighbors in need

At Rebuilding Together Fox Valley, our volunteers are the backbone of our organization.  Together, we accomplish more than home repairs; we preserve affordable homeownership, reduce substandard housing in the community, and improve not just the homes themselves, but the families and surrounding neighborhood as well.  When you volunteer, you make a lasting impression on both the people you serve and the people you serve with.

Depending on your interest and skill level, we will place you in a position where you can be most effective - whether you are a professional tradesperson, computer programmer, photographer, graphic designer, or professional organizer, your time and talents are welcomed at RTFV!

PROJECT

VOLUNTEERS

The majority of Rebuilding Together Fox Valley core Rebuilding Day activity is focused in April, during National Rebuilding Month, and on the last Saturday of October, Make a Difference Day.  We also occasionally will take on projects throughout the year.  Who volunteers for Rebuild Days?

Home Inspection Volunteer: Inspectors will ultimately determine the "warm, safe, and dry" issues and mobility problems related to houses that are under consideration for rebuilding and repair.  Inspectors should have knowledge of home construction and renovation, the ability to estimate materials needed with approximate costs and the ability to estimate appropriate volunteers required, by skills and numbers.  Volunteer commitment for home inspection will occur in the months prior to our Rebuild Days and do not require licensed home inspectors.

Skilled Tradesperson Volunteer: You are the heart of our work.  We have requests every day for repairs, small and large.  If you have handyman skills or are a skilled tradesperson, please contact us to be matched with a project for a homeowner in need.

Leadership Volunteer: Our project days would not run as smoothly without the dedication of our day-of leaders.  House Captains and Volunteer Coordinators help to enlist volunteers for the project, task volunteers with specific jobs and lead the project to completion.

General Project Volunteer: Are you interested in volunteering on a Rebuilding Project, but unsure if you have the right repair skills?  Don't worry, everyone can contribute to our mission!  We have plenty of opportunities for general volunteers to roll up their sleeves and lend a hand with our various programs. Sign up for our newsletter to be aware of upcoming Installation Days!

EVENT

VOLUNTEERS

In addition to our home and not-for-profit repair projects, Rebuilding Together Fox Valley has multiple fundraising events that help support our mission.  Volunteers are necessary to make these events successful.

Event/Fundraising Committee Volunteer:  Volunteers on the Events/Fundraising Committee will help plan and implement fundraising events.  Our two fundraisers, the Annual Golf Tournament and the Rebuilders & Brewers event, are lots of fun and are the direct result of great work by volunteers, staff, and board members.  Activities will consist of soliciting sponsorship's and auction items, as well as helping to promote and sell tickets to the event.  We welcome additional individuals to join our Fund Development Committee to help make our annual events and even bigger success!  Please contact us to get started today.

YEAR-ROUND

VOLUNTEERS

Rebuilding Together Fox Valley is active in planning and organizing throughout the year.  Our small staff works hard but there is always opportunities to do more for our community.

Volunteer Photographer: You will help with capturing Rebuilding Days and fundraising events to provide RTFV with photos and video.  This helps us to create new outreach materials and share the stories of our homeowners and volunteers.

Community Outreach Volunteer: You help us reach local homeowners in need, recruit potential sponsors and volunteers, and spread awareness of RTFV's mission.  Regular responsibilities include attending outreach events with RTFV staff and other volunteers and research of potentials partners.  Please contact us to learn more about our upcoming Outreach events.

Administrative Volunteer: You assist with daily "behind the scenes" responsibilities of RTFV staff and provide office support.  Office volunteers may assist through data entry, website and social media management, and office organization.  Please contact us to work out a flexible schedule that accommodates your life and work.

Group Volunteers: We work with large and small businesses, church groups, and community organizations.  Most group volunteer activities are associated with a corporate/faith-based financial donation and employee/member volunteers from the sponsoring organization.  If your group has identified RTFV as a potential organization to support, contact us to discuss what might be available at the time of your request.

Board of Directors: If you think your experience and expertise can help advance Rebuilding Together Fox Valley's social impact or you are looking for a rewarding community service experience, consider serving on the board of RTFV.  If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact RTFV Executive Director, Chip Wood.

If you would like to volunteer for a certain position but do not see it listed, please contact us with your interest and availability.
