Building a Healthy Neighborhood

We are shifting our model of programming to a targeted neighborhood approach we are calling "Building A Healthy Neighborhood". Continuing in 2021, Rebuilding Together Fox Valley will be focusing much of our home modification and repair efforts in the West Appleton Neighborhood in Appleton, for the next 2 years. Through a multi-faceted collaboration with the West Appleton Neighborhood, a host of other nonprofits, faith communities, local businesses, volunteer organizations, and various funding sources, we will repair 150-200 homes. In addition to the home modifications and repairs we will make, there will be neighborhood building work going on through our partners, building social and human capital among the neighbors, providing educational and hands-on training related to health and safety, and fostering a deeper sense of community. Over our time in the West Appleton Neighborhood, we will develop and train Rebuilding Ambassadors, neighborhood volunteers that will continue to provide health and safety home repairs to neighbors in need once the agency completes our time in the neighborhood. We will also be offering fire safety protective measures such as smoke/CO detectors and fire extinguishers to all neighbors in the West Appleton Neighborhood at no cost to homeowners.

Though much of our focus will be on the West Appleton Neighborhood, we will not forget the neighbors in need in Outagamie, Calumet, Waupaca, and Winnebago Counties. Our Safe and Healthy Housing program will continue to partner with businesses and volunteer groups to provide critical home repairs to qualified homeowners.
