Have you ever changed a life before lunch? If not, now is your opportunity!
Rebuilding Together Fox Valley provides critical home modifications and repairs for low-income neighbors in need from Outagamie, Calumet, Winnebago, and Waupaca Counties, at no cost to the low-income home owner. Our largest impact event is National Rebuilding Day, where we partner with businesses and their respective volunteer groups to address the needs of numerous homeowners in a single day.
But our work does not stop there! Rebuilding Together Fox Valley serves homeowners year-round. On the Second Saturday of each month, we make homes safer and healthier for several homeowners in need.
Volunteers meet at 8:00 am and work until 12:00 pm, completing as many home modifications and repairs as possible in the timeframe allocated. We provide all of the tools, materials, and an onsite House Captain, to provide leadership/direction, to complete the project successfully.

National Rebuilding Day
National Rebuilding Month originated in 1973 in Midland, Texas with volunteers helping neighbors rebuild their homes. The group founded Rebuilding Together, at the time called “Christmas in April,” and gathered around a month of service each year in April. The mission then grew beyond the idea of providing service one month per year to bringing volunteers together to provide neighbors in need with critical repairs year-round.
When you hear the word "home," what comes to mind? For some of our neighbors, “home” does not mean a sense of security, belonging and happy memories. It instead means uncertainty, isolation and hopelessness. With the help of volunteers year-round volunteers, we’re changing this reality by repairing homes, revitalizing communities and rebuilding lives. We are working to ensure safe homes and communities for everyone.
On May 22, 2021, 165 volunteers, representing these companies, gathered at Linwood Park to make 198 home modifications and repairs to 18 homes in the West Appleton Neighborhood. The City of Appleton Mayor, Jake Woodford, honored us with some opening remarks about the importance and value of neighborhoods in Appleton.
At the conclusion of the day over 1,320 service hours, valued at $41,540, were given to the neighborhood to make homes safe and healthy. In addition, these sponsors provided the necessary funds to purchase the materials, equipment, and support to make the day happen. If you or your company would like to partner and collaborate on projects like this in the future, contact Brent Bowman, Development & Outreach Manager, at Brent@rtfv.org or 920-730-2156.
Our next National Rebuilding Day will be held in May of 2022. Watch this page for more details or contact Brent Bowman at Brent@rtfv.org if your company would be interested in being part of this National event.
