National

Rebuilding

Day

National Rebuilding Month originated in 1973 in Midland, Texas with volunteers helping neighbors rebuild their homes. The group founded Rebuilding Together, at the time called “Christmas in April,” and gathered around a month of service each year in April. The mission then grew beyond the idea of providing service one month per year to bringing volunteers together to provide neighbors in need with critical repairs year-round.

Rebuilding Together Fox Valley utilizes National Rebuilding Day to revitalize our community partners. Nonprofits have a difficult time finding funding for repairs or refreshing their space - that's where we come in! Rebuilding Together Fox Valley partners with local businesses who volunteer to help us help others.

For 2026, we have big news - we are adding a Green Bay National Rebuilding Day!

We are honored to continue the work of Rebuilding Together Greater Green Bay in a new and exciting way.

On May 2, 2026, Fox Valley partners will join with us to help COTS address some needs at one of the men's shelters.

On May 16, 2026, Green Bay partners will join with us to help the YMCA with a Y-Camp site that is in need of some support and attention.

If your company would like to partner and collaborate on these projects, contact Chip Wood, Executive Director, at chip@rtfv.org, or 920-730-2156.

Please help us thank our partners from 2025
