Mary Lynn's Story

Behind this door lives Mary Lynn, an older adult diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, that will eventually confine her to a wheelchair. She has fallen twice while attempting to get in her current tub creating a very unsafe situation. Worried that she wouldn’t be able to age in place, she reached out to us for assistance.
 
With the help of some volunteers, our friends at OGZ Company, and Mitch Bourin, Construction Program Manager for RTFV, we were able to install a wheelchair accessible shower, grab bars/rails, chair height toilet, and new floor tiles.
 
Mary Lynn is living life these days with a little less stress knowing that she can safely age in place.
